Phiaton PS 300NC

Phiaton PS 300NC Headphons When we last checked with Phiaton, this new competitor in the high market caps powerful and deep MS-400. While Dr. Dre headphones Monster which expire, and it also seems a little 'like them. With its latest model, the PS 300NC ($ 299 list) takes Phiaton icon noise suppression of Bose, the Phiaton PS 300NC QuietComfort 3. In addition to cost less than the QC3, PS managed respectable 300NC Noise Cancellation and strong (if not brilliant) performance audio, and comes with lots of accessories. However, prices at about $ 300, our Editors' Choice, Creative Aurvana X-Fi Noise Canceling Headphones, is even higher.

Light (5 ounces) PS 300NC is a po 'like the QC3. Both couples are supra-aural, meaning that the rest of the ear instead of blocking and any sealing. The cans are black metallic platinum / gold (as opposed to the QC3, whose coffers are mainly silver) and black on the outside of the house is real leather. The pads look almost identical to the impression that QC3 and plush, but the QC3 is a lot more comfortable and lighter in the head for long periods of time. A reversing switch is in the accident, and is easy to activate and deactivate the ignition. A surprising choice of design: Bass Boost switch on each ear. It 'good to be able to add or subtract the low end, but because two switches? Anyone can grow under the left ear, but to give up right?

With PS 300NC has a lot of accessories: a second rechargeable battery, adapter quarter inch helmet, detachable audio cable terminating in a 3.5-mm, various power supplies, a charger base with a USB cable and a dual plug adapter for aircraft. All this together with the helmet in the shape of a sturdy black seems that comes with the QC3.

PS 300NC and QC3 is doing a good job of noise suppression, although in different ways. Each pair of large blocks of frequency bands, but in different ranges. Sometimes the QC3 might seem as if the introduction of a number of very thin high-frequency whistle, however, the PS 300NC cut a little 'less ambient noise outside, but does not hiss. The Aurvana X-Fi sounds like a couple of Bose, a little 'less hiss.

You can use the PS 300NC when the noise cancellation does not become a feature of Bose has not yet adopted. With the removal of the noise off, the lower switches do a good job to compensate for the driver is activated and an increase in power with low noise, when the cancellation is active, but the effect is more subtle. Paradoxically, the best on a headset without noise cancellation, which should not be the case: When the noise cancellation is activated, the depth of the bass tends to distort at high volume.

The PS provides 300NC respectable bass and clarity in the midrange and above. But it can not handle lower deeper in large volumes and, unfortunately, you may want to listen at high volume, because these headphones are quieter than others in general. The distortion is not unbearable, but marked, it is necessary to reduce the volume a little 'when you hear. While the QC3 does not suffer from these problems of distortion or volume, the frequency response and nasal sounds metallic Phiaton wins pair in this account. However, the superior sound, a little 'nice balanced Creative Aurvana X-Fi won two couples.

If your priority is comfort, it's easy to choose the Phiaton PS 300NC on Creative Aurvana X-Fi is the best comparable Phiaton and noise reduction to offer the same price ($ 300), but the pair of Creative offers a better quality sound in general. (The two pairs of its good enough for the  350 Bose QuietComfort 3 seem overpriced.) Any person wishing to obtain a true audio excellence, however, waive the cancellation of noise or be prepared to drop about $ 450 from Sennheiser PXC 450 NoiseGard.
